Who we are

LayerNomics is a UK-based filament price comparison service available at layernomics.com. We help the 3D printing community find and compare filament prices across UK retailers. If you have any questions about this policy, contact us at hello@layernomics.com.

What data we collect and why

Price submissions

The site allows users to submit filament prices they have found. If you submit a price, we store the submission data you provide — material, brand, vendor, price, and any product or source URLs. Submissions are reviewed before being published. We do not require you to provide your name or any contact details to submit a price.

Lawful basis: Legitimate interests — maintaining an accurate, community-sourced price database that benefits all users of the site.

Usage events

We record anonymised usage events to understand how the site is used — for example, which buy-links are clicked, which browse filters are applied, and when the calculator is run. These events contain no personal identifiers. They record only the type of action and, where relevant, a product category such as the filament material.

Server logs

Like all websites, our hosting infrastructure automatically records standard server logs including IP addresses, browser type, and pages requested. These are retained for a short period for security and diagnostic purposes and are not used for any other purpose.

Cookies

LayerNomics does not use advertising cookies, third-party tracking cookies, or analytics cookies. We use only the cookies that are strictly necessary to operate the site. See our Cookie Policy for full details.

Who we share data with

We use the following third-party services to operate LayerNomics:

• Supabase — database and backend infrastructure. Data is held on EU-region servers. Privacy policy at supabase.com/privacy.
• Vercel — hosting and content delivery. Privacy policy at vercel.com/legal/privacy-policy.

We do not sell your data. We do not share your data with advertisers or data brokers.

How long we keep your data

Price submission data is retained as part of the historical price record. Anonymised usage events are retained for up to 24 months and then deleted. Server logs are retained for a short period for security purposes only.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, request correction of inaccurate data, request deletion of your data, and object to processing based on legitimate interests.
